How does one even come up with such a name???
Creative? Ok, I get that.
Frugal? Yeah, who doesn't like to save money.
But Wonder Woman?? Come on...
For many years I've been called Wonder Woman. She was my hero as a child, I remember watching Linda Carter as she would spin around to become a woman who got things done, used her gold bracelets to deflect bullets, and her magic rope to wrangle the bad. I aspired to be just like her, LOL.
Well, here I am many years later, and I'm still doing just that. Let's take my son's recent wedding for example. He contacted me to let me know that he was getting married, but due to the current Covid pandemic they didn't know what to do. After a brief discussion they decided they would like to get married here at our home, which we affectionately call, "The McKee Ranch". It's not a ranch with horses or cows, but a simple home in the middle of 10 acres of woods. A beautiful pond and the sounds of the babbling brook, along with dozens of turkeys and birds. My husband, Kenny and I were excited to be able to host such an event. Then the kicker.... they wanted to get married in 4 weeks! Ok... we can do this, I thought. As the days progressed closer to the wedding day there were challenges, but many victories as we prepared for a beautiful wedding on a budget.
The one thing I was not planning on was making a wedding
dress. Bre had gone dress shopping, but was not finding what she wanted. Fortunately she had a good vision of what she was looking for, and between her vision and my ability to sew we got it done!
What a blessing it has been to accomodate our children to host their beautiful day. I used foam board from Dollar Tree to make signs reciting Corinthians as our guests came down the long driveway. Grapevine from our property to make an arbor for them to get married under. And fleece blankets from Dollar General to keep our guest warm on the brisk fall day.
It was a beautiful event for a beautiful couple. Not everything has to cost a lot of money. When you've got the Creative Frugal Wonder Woman you can get 'er done on a budget.
My goal is to share my tips and tricks on how I get things done. You can follow me here on my blog, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
A couple of years ago I was working on a large event, and talked to my friend, Ashley about singing at the event. Unfortunately he had a previous engagement and would not be able to attend; however, he gave me a song that he had written but never released.
I now cherish this song. For some crazy reason my friend thought that this world would be better without him. Or maybe he just couldn't stand the thought of going on without his grandma who had recently passed. I'll never know the answers to these questions, at least not on this side of Heaven.
Suicide is something that is so complicated. It leaves holes the size of a galaxy in hearts. It leaves dozens of unanswered questions. It leaves trails of pain miles long. It leaves tears that can fill an Olympic size swimming pool. If only in that split second you could have seen through the fog to realize how many people loved you. How many people cared about you. How many people would miss you terribly. The lives that you touched.
You will forever be remembered, Ashley Peacock. Rest in peace, my friend.

Sometimes you just need to know when to call in the troops...
I filmed a video about Bible Journaling on Sunday. It was pretty good, just need to upload it and edit.
I deleted it by accident.
So, Monday I filmed it again. This time it was even better than the first one. I was so excited, to finally get this information out there on my YouTube channel.
And then come the technical difficulties.
Needed to convert it to a MP4.
Upload to an editing software, only to have no sound.
Convert it again, only to have it mishaped into widescreen... which was extremely unflattering, I must add.
Now today... Day 3 of said video... After hours of frustration, staring at the computer, clicking links, watching tutorials, I'd had it... Time to call in the troops I declared.
Fiverr. If you haven't heard of Fiverr, I'm about to blow your mind! You can go to Fiverr.com and search just about any freelance work that you need done. I have worked with a gentleman from Europe a couple of other times, and he never ceases to amaze me.
I know that with continued effort put forth I will get this IT thing down, but until then I can't be ashamed to call in some help to get me over a hump. Trust me, the $17 is going to be way worth my sanity.
Keep watch, the video is coming soon! Until then, I worked on some cut files for today.
Inhalers, nebulizer, and medications were all a part of my life 7 years ago. Then I learned about Young Living essential oils, which then led me into a cleaner way of living. And today, I'm so grateful that I threw all of this away!!! That's right. I threw away my nebulizer, my inhalers, my hormone patches, my meds for my digestive (including Zantac! Have you heard the commercials that they now know that it was a cancer causing drug that you can now file a lawsuit :/ )
It wasn't easy. It wasn't over night. BUT, I'm so grateful that I took that first step and started down this road by purchasing my Premium Starter Kit. You CAN too! And you won't be alone, we have a wonderful community that is here for you. That will help answer your questions. That will give you direction of where to start. That will support you <3
I know how important it is to be conscious of the powerful side effects of everyday medications. The father of my children, the man I was married to for almost 20 years, the man that would have had so many grandchildren now died at the age of 40 because he was on so many medications. One causing a side effect, that led to having to take another med, and yet another...
We need to be the stewards of our own bodies. Ask questions. Seek out healthier alternatives to everyday issues like heartburn, digestive issues, breathing issues, and so much more! They are out there. I have been hospitalized numerous times due to my asthma. Since beginning my healthier journey 7 years ago, I have had one full blown asthma attack where I was able to open my lungs without an inhaler or nebulizer, and one case where in the past I would have been in a full blown attack; however, I was able to go into the situation fully prepared and support my lungs with strong immunity instead of waiting for them to fail.
Are you ready for a healthier journey? We only have one body. One shot at this life. You are worth a life full of joy, health, and love... Let me help you <3
I was visiting a friend the other day and she was showing me these great little kitchen scrubbies that she was making. I have been out of the yarn loop for a bit and had never seen yarn like this! They are adorable, durable and work amazing...
As I was surfing the web I found this Red Heart Scubby Yarn and just had to share! If you at all crochet or knit, I urge you to check out this yarn. It is soft yet powerful. Combined with cotton yarn for the opposite side, makes this my favorite kitchen cleaning tool, used along with my Thieves Dish Soap and Household Cleaner. I will be hitting up my friend for some more, because now I know that I need another one for when this one gets thrown in the washer ;)
Happy Cleaning, and check in later this week for another cleaning tip!!!
